We are delighted to share information about presentation of E-ROUTES team members at the ICARUS Convention #33, which was held at the University of Naples “Federico II” from 16 until 18 October 2024.
Within the first day of the ICARUS Convention program was presentation prepared by Antonello Migliozi (MUSA) and Bogdan Trifunović (BDS), in collaboration with Marco Marotta (Italy) and Nevena Bečanović (Serbia). The title of the presentation, presented by Marco Marotta and Bogdan Trifunović, was “New technologies to support GLAM: comparing the potential of two software for storytelling”, which was a comparison of the ArcGIS Story Maps and Curatescape/Omeka platforms’ storytelling capacities. This topic should be published in 2025 as a research paper by the authors.
The presented topic in essence investigates the storytelling capacities of both analyzed platforms, which are used by the E-ROUTES team members in their everyday work. The audience in Portici was able to hear about main features of both ArcGIS and Omeka, as well their respective strengths for storytelling. The authors plan to prepare a paper in 2025, which in more details will investigate the above topic, with practical case studies usage.
